The Βusiness Support Mechanism is an innovative action for the Greek local government, which we aspire to be an institution in support of entrepreneurship and economic development.
Purpose and objectives
The Business Support Mechanism is an innovative initiative for the local government. We aspire that it will be an institution that will support entrepreneurship and the economic development of the Region of Western Greece.
The purpose of the Mechanism is the development of the companies of the regional units of Aetolia-Acarnania, Achaea and Elis. Main goals are the improvement of their operation, helping them access new markets, as well as the provision of specialized consulting support services to enhance their competitiveness and improve their outward-looking orientation.
At the Business Support Mechanism of the Region of Western Greece:
All the BSM's activities will be supported by an up-to-date database of business data, which is essential for monitoring business developments in the Region of Western Greece.
The "Business Support Mechanism of Western Greece" is funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) under the Regional Operational Programme (ROP) of Western Greece 2014-2020.
Regional Development Fund of the Region Western Greece
Project promoter of the "Business Support Mechanism of Western Greece" is the Regional Development Fund of the Region of Western Greece.
The Regional Development Fund of the Region of Western Greece (RDF–RWG) was founded at the seat of the Regional Local Government of Western Greece in 1998, by virtue of the article 53, Act 2218/1994. From 1.7.2011 the RDF - RWG belongs to the elected Region of Western Greece in accordance with the article 190 of Law 3852/2010.
The Fund is responsible for the Management of Credits pertaining to the Public Investment Programme (P.I.P.); the management of government financing, of the financing of legal entities, the administration of appropriations regarding European Committee Programmes, International Organisations and other foreign bodies with respect to the Regional, Prefectural, Local and Special Development Plans of the Region.
The Fund provides technical assistance to the Region for the conduction of studies and surveys. It acts as a technical advisor to programs assigned to the Fund by the Region regarding the most efficient use of resources and it conducts development, techno-economic and organizational studies. It also supervises and implements programs which are assigned to the Fund, by Ministries, the Region, the Decentralized administration, Municipalities and Legal Entities of Public Law.

Facilities
The Business Support Mechanism has offices in all three Regional Units of the Region of Western Greece. The offices are located in the cities of Patras, Agrinio and Pyrgos.
Patras
The facilities of the Mechanism are hosted in a space of a total of 246 m2 at the junction of Athens and Sarandaporou streets (ground floor).
The offices of Patras have:
- 15-person multipurpose meeting room
- 6 fully equipped workstations
- Reception area
- Auxiliary and common areas
Agrinio
The facilities of the Mechanism are hosted in a space of a total area of 140 m2 at 4 Boukogianni Street (ground floor).
The offices of Agrinio have:
- 10-person multipurpose meeting room
- 5 fully equipped workstations
- Reception area
- Auxiliary and common areas
Pyrgos
The offices of the Mechanism are hosted in a space of a total area of 145.5 m2 at 49 Mitropolitou Antoniou Street (second floor).
The offices of Pyrgos have:

- 5 fully equipped workstations

- Auxiliary and common areas
